We are working behind the scenes on a few important projects and we want to crowdsource some questions to you, our readers, for your important insights.
Just to point out, the blurb from Plume doesn't even mention LGB. Because of course, in the TQ+ movement their job is just to shut up and be supportive.
Yes - thank you for undertaking this important project! Perhaps also consider extending your research to hiring at residential psychiatric programs for teens. I believe there is as strong bias or "capture" there too. Thanks for all you do.
I had a private talk with the Trans Medicine coordinator at the major medical in my area. They were clearly a trans man and another practitioner overseeing my daughter's medicalization as well. First the coordinator--the conversation was remarkably frank. I got the sense that they were tired of bamboozling parents. I asked about my daughters mental health diagnoses and why they weren't being considered and i got an answer that was basically, 'its a crap shoot' and 'yeah, we should probably look into those things, but we don't.' I don't know if they are truly concerned about what they are doing but to me they sounded resigned. The other practitioner (maybe a nurse), I never talked to but I googled them and saw they were a gender activist and part of a bunch of transgender rights orgs. It was proof to me that my daughter is not getting neutral and appropriate care. Imagine if the doctor telling you you needed a leg amputation was the same one selling prosthetic legs on the side.
Awesome and Good Luck!
