Email sent: Dear Judiciary Committee members,

I am writing as a concerned parent to express my opposition to Maine LD 1735.

I oppose this bill because medical intervention of children is experimental. Many of the drugs used in these interventions are known to harm adults, and they are not reversible. Surgical interventions are also irreversible and many of them carry lifelong challenges and even complications.

Using law enforcement to separate children from their parents is abuse of the power of law enforcers to protect and serve.

This bill does nothing to help children and adolescents become strong, independent, resilient, productive adults. It does not address their need for mental and emotional support. Simply prescribing drugs and surgery that are demonstrably damaging to children's health and makes them lifelong pharmaceutical consumers is not "Safeguarding" anything.
