I can't believe there's another one on Prime! I wonder if it takes the same apologetic tone.

PS, I also LOVE cult documentaries. The Vow was amazing.

I for one (as a parent of a trans-identified teen who has been researching this issue for 4.5 years now) take you, and other outspoken, articulate, detransitioners very seriously.

I find that mainstream media, along with every other facet of society, is caught up in the lie that is "your authentic self will be found by chemically and surgically altering your body in extreme, health-damaging ways." It disgusts me, and never ceases to cause outrage and sadness whenever I encounter it. Thanks for all you do.

I have watched the documentary. I agree that this movie shows many things incorrectly . However, in my opinion, until there is another one in the mainstream media about how people are influenced to turn trans and how that affects families it is the best thing out there. It does show how parents are cut off by their children and disputes the theory that individuals who are trans are simply “born that way” as children are being taught in books like “ I am Jazz”

I love cult documentaries too. I just started watching this one and had only seen up to where they started introducing the divine masculine and feminine. Of course Netflix would go the CYA route. Shameful. (But I’ll still watch the rest). 😏

If we start holding Netflix accountable for their garbage conspiracy theory documentaries there won't be a streaming service left. But if you have not watched "Wild Wild Country" yet, or the doc series on John of God, I recommend both.

"the idea that you are exercising control is an illusion" - I learned in intro sociology that superstitions are rituals and spells we create to deal with the the stress of having no control. Prisoners experience jailhouse conversion because they have no control. Watch the pitcher and the batter in a baseball or softball game: which one has less control, and more little rituals they do? Once you start to see it you cannot unsee it.
