The LGBT Courage Coalition is an organization of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender adults who seek to reform youth gender medicine. Over the past few months, our members have participated in multiple efforts to attend the annual conferences of key medical associations that endorse gender-affirming care for youth, in order to engage in conversation with doctors and share concerns about the weak evidence base for these treatments. For example, LGBT-CC members participated with FAIR in Medicine at a table at the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Conference, and more recently, engaged in conversation with psychiatrists attending the American Psychiatric Association (APA) Conference.
During the first weekend in June, some of our members will attend the Endocrine Society Conference in order to engage in conversation, and hopefully persuasion, with endocrinologists regarding the weak evidence base supporting pediatric gender medicine.
Each time we attend these events, we need materials for signs, stickers, and handouts. Today’s Action Alert is a request for those who are able to help purchase materials on our Amazon Wish List that we need for this upcoming event.
Action Alert: Help us Purchase our Amazon Wish List for the Endocrine Society Conference
Please help our efforts by donating to purchase materials for signs, stickers and handouts for the Endocrine Society Conference. You can help us in either of the following three ways:
1.Go to the LGBT-CC Endocrine Society Conference Amazon Wish List and purchase items we need!
2. Make a general donation to LGBT-CC here. This donation will support airfare and housing while we travel.
3. Share this Action Alert with your networks with a short message of why you support the LGBT-CC’s work.
Thank you for all of your support! As always, leave any thoughts or feedback in the comments!
Just sent some supplies. I hope you're able to open minds and hearts, and stop some endocrinologists from harming vulnerable young people who have no clear idea what they are doing.
Good luck at the conference; I’ll be thinking of you!
