Garden Highlight 2: Knockout roses. This rose bush was transplanted in this garden after a number of successful years at my parent’s home. When they sold their house to downsize it was carefully moved here. Roses are not my favorite, prefer more useful plants, but they seem to make the neighbors and my spouse happy.
So roses grow here.
Really am loving these Cass and Garden combos. Speaking of holistic care, I was amused by the statement, “Roses are not my favorite, prefer more useful plants.” But of course, holistically speaking, by planting these roses, you brought others happiness. So, good on you (whoever you are) and good on the roses!
Ditto to what Susan and Ollie said. I'd like to share a link to a photo (since my garden is sort of pathetic this summer!) that's similar to a huge flower that grew by accident from bird seed I'd scattered in my yard several years ago. Bold, beautiful and tenacious, as well as food right on the flower for goldfinches. Praise to sunflowers! https://www.birdnote.org/sites/default/files/American-Goldfinch-on-sunflower-800-Miki-Jourdan-CC.jpg
