Garden Highlight 10: Snacking Peppers- These are a great educational tool for preschoolers. First lesson with the kids is about walking in garden beds, from the time that they can walk everyone learns you never walk in a garden bed. Second lesson is about picking things.
Learned the hard way last summer when the preschooler kept picking green tomatoes. The lesson now is you cannot pick without permission. These snacking peppers are the perfect size to allow them to help in the garden, still only picking with permission, but they love to go out and hunt for the peppers and bring them in.
I understand that you are recounting the recommendations of the Cass Review, but why not leave the kid's body alone so they can have a child naturally if they choose later? Any body manipulation that harms fertility should be highly suspect.
"All children should be offered fertility counseling and preservation before a medical pathway."
Assuming it is appropriate to call individuals who have entered puberty children, do such children have the capacity to understand fertility counseling and make informed decisions on the basis of that counseling?
For that matter, does an adolescent have the capacity to make an informed decision to decline fertility counseling?
At the end of the day, can an adolescent give informed consent to a "medical pathway," if by that we mean commencing puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones?
I submit the answer to all these questions is a firm "no." Given the true state of so-called gender medicine today, no parent or guardian should be consenting to a medical pathway on behalf of an adolescent either.
