International Action: Unteach the Overreach - September 14th, 2023
Today, Thursday September 14th is an International Walk Out where parents are taking their children out of schools to send a strong message in support of parental rights.
You may find more information about this action here: Unteach the Overreach
If you are a parent and want to participate, you can do so by keeping your child out of school.
Other ways to participate include recording a short 10-20 second video that Unteach the Overreach will add to their YouTube playlist. You may send your video to: unteachinfo@gmail.com
Other ways of taking action:
Talk to one friend about your concerns about teaching children gender ideology in schools and keeping secrets from parents about children who socially transition at school
Reach out to your school board and ask what their policies are about parental notification if a child asks to go by a different name or pronouns at school.
Thank you for your support!
Please send your Action Alert tips or submissions to LGBTcouragecoalition@gmail.com
Love the cause, think the tactic is ineffective. Mostly because I don't see a visual component that can be featured in a photo, like groups of students standing outside a school or speeches being made by parents or something.
Sorry, but keeping your kids out of school for a day doesn't by itself send a strong message.
I am very concerned that CC is the one over-reaching here. It's one thing to raise genuine concerns about providing young people medications that could produce un-reversible bodily changes without first going through a thorough screening process conducted by trained medical providers. It a whole other thing to jump in and support a national effort organized by those fundamentally opposed to equality and dignity for LGBTQ people and using trans issues to gain political power.
