We are going to start piloting ‘action alerts’ for subscribers. In addition to providing you with great content we want to offer some action items. In the spirit of old school activism, back when we put pen to paper and hoped that flooding mailrooms could change corporate policies, we believe some stories present us with action.
Yesterday we ran an excellent piece detailing the experience of Aaron Terrell. If you didn’t get a chance to read it check it out here: https://lgbtcouragecoalition.substack.com/
Aaron is a transman and representative of the Gender Dysphoria Alliance (GDA). He was a paying attendee and found himself kicked out of the last World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH) Biannual Scientific Symposium, seemingly for the audacity to ask a question about thoroughness of assessments.
The conference cost $725 (Canadian). That is a lot of money. But the money isn’t the point.
Aaron has requested WPATH provide an explanation for his removal. If he violated a rule he was unaware of, and was kicked out on those grounds, no refund is necessary. However, WPATH has not offered an explanation for Aaron’s expulsion nor even acknowledged his emails about the situation.
Do WPATH think it’s acceptable to take money from a member of the trans community and ignore them and hope they will just disappear? We don’t think that this is right and we think that it is worth some action. If you agree today is a great day to try the following.

Dear: _________________________
Aaron Terrell, a transman and representative of Gender Dysphoria Alliance, was removed from your most recent biannual conference. He was never provided an explanation, nor his requested refund. If you were not aware of the incident, you can read about it at lgbtcouragecoalition.substack.com/p/i-am-a-transman.
Please let us know what rule Aaron violated that justified his expulsion from the conference. Barring that, Gender Dysphoria Alliance is owed a refund for his $725 registration fee.
Aaron Terrell can be reached at lgbtcouragecoalition@gmail.com and aaront@genderdysphoriaalliance.com if you would like to provide explanation, apology, or refund.
Please let me know the outcome of this situation.
Sincerely,
